23 February 2004 - Breaking News From Margaret Hodge

PPPPC welcomes the annnouncement below which was received today at 16.30

"Children's minister Margaret Hodge told MPs that she was asking local authorities with social services responsibilities to examine a range of family proceedings which may be affected by the Angela Cannings case at the Court of Appeal. The minister told the Commons that in cases where there was now a doubt about the reliability of expert medical evidence, councils should consider whether to apply to a court for the care order to be discharged."

PPPPC hope that all possible endeavours to reunite families wrongfully parted will be made, as suggested by Earl Howe in his letter to the Sunday Times of 8th February.
